Our 'Land Guardian' event was a massive success, with over 200 volunteers planting trees and learning about soil erosion control.

World Environment Day 2024 marked a significant milestone for Green Sugira as we brought together community members, local leaders, and environmental enthusiasts for a day dedicated to land restoration and sustainable practices.

Event Highlights

The day began with an educational workshop on soil erosion prevention, followed by hands-on tree planting activities. Participants learned about native species selection, proper planting techniques, and long-term care strategies.

Over 200 volunteers joined us in planting more than 1,000 trees across degraded areas in the Kinyinya sector. The enthusiasm and commitment shown by attendees, from young students to senior community members, was truly inspiring.

Impact and Future Plans

This event not only contributed to immediate environmental restoration but also strengthened community bonds and raised awareness about sustainable land management. We plan to conduct regular follow-up sessions to monitor tree growth and engage volunteers in ongoing conservation efforts.
